Snow, Snow Go Away...

So, the first day that it snowed here, everyone was excited. The kids went out to play. Steve and I fought over who would get to shovel the driveway. But now those days are gone. This morning as I looked out my window, I discovered that it had snowed, AGAIN. With a sigh, I picked-up my snow shovel and headed out. This was becoming a regular morning ritual for me. Come outside, pick-up snow shovel, wave to the neighbors outside, and then spend the next hour shoveling. Of course, most of our neighbors were out running their snow-blowers. (A snow-blower is like a vacuum for snow. It sucks it up and spits it out.) I however, had to settle for my SMALL snow shovel. This morning, I discovered a layer of ice underneath the snow. Frustrated, I moved at a snail's pace, lugging snow to piles that were almost as tall as me. My back was hurting, my mood was souring as I inched my way down the driveway. I suddenly slipped on some ice and down I went, snow shovel flying and my pride crumbling. The neighbor from across the street came over with her snow-blower and offered to finish my driveway. I smiled and politely declined. As she went back across the street, I couldn't help but wonder if God used my fall to establish a connection with a neighbor. I went back to work, shoveling with a smile. The snow is not so bad after all...
